Russian Sues NASA for $300 Million

I don't usually complain about other professions, but the legal system is nuts! NASA is being sued for $300 million by a Russian, because they blew up that comet. For deforming her horoscope, and moral sufferings -- MORAL SUFFERINGS! How crazy is that? What about real suffering, like the patients I see every day! Like the emotional sharing going on here on this blog?

The legal system is broken!

Honestly curious,

How does this affect Beth's recovery?

It doesn't - just makes me furious!

Am a touch concerned a) that Beth has not posted for a while and b) that Madame Therapist seems to have some rather strong opinions on just about every topic which comes up.
Also c) that a highly educated therapist appears to have problems with elementary spelling. Sorry but .........

why did you write "my experience comes from the recovery of being married to a "beth""?

Do you think I am a "type"? some kind of "monster"? I think you should watch what you write. I am sorry to be so blunt, but who are you?

"my education is in different areas though one of my majors was in psych. i studied many areas of interest to me. i have a degree with 2 majors and 3 classes short of another 2. i never took typing and obviously was not paying attention in grade school english.

and I thought you were could you lie to me???

"i have no interest in blogs and chat rooms and such."

but you commented on everyone of my posts!!!! I drink green tea (iced) now - what is wrong with you!!!!

BC 50 I was not commenting on you (don't be so paranoid) but on 'marion f. young'. And I totally agree that she seems much more bent on self promotion than on helping 'Beth'. Which returns me to the endlessly fascinating question of 'how real is this blog?' :)

JJ, I asked Marion to post. I AM her friend too. She give me (us) topics to think about. Would you just like to read me bitching all of the time??? Without context??? Media/New today is full of this type of crap that Marion brings to the forefront. If she did not do this, this blog would be in limbo.

Do you think Marion just communicates to me through this blog? That our sessions are only short blurbs that others can read? You are the one that is crazy.
And as to your “endlessly fascinating question”
1. Yes it’s as real as you JJ
2. I really don’t like defending it everyday I stopped answering e-mails about it/ Marion doesn’t mind as much.
3. If you have any experiences please share – this blog is about communal bitching - please post :)

Beth and Marion

I have a truly serious and honest curious question.
I have a degree in pyschology, 2 decades of experience as a counsellor in various areas, including grief counselling, suicide counselling, Marriage Guidance, Alcoholism and violence, and I totally and utterly fail to see any possible benefit for any patient in Blogging. Some explanation from Marion would be appreciated ( along with a photo from this century?)

All part of therapy, brought into the new century.

I have several advanced degrees, so I'm a few up on you there. Also, 25 years of hands-on clinical experience allows me to feel pretty confident in my experimental therapy techniques.

Keep people busy, get them expressing themselves, all key. For example, from :

Finally, some therapists (Cammer, 1969) think the body just runs out of energy, causing us to feel depressed. Maybe all feelings are repressed along with the painful depression, producing a lack of interest in anything. Furthermore, lethargic disinterest means we don't have to try new things, take risks, meet challenges, or express feelings. Like all other behavior, apathy has its payoffs. Hoffman (1993) attempts to explain and correct "feeling tired all the time."

Considering all the good one can do and all the fun one can have, it seems sad to live life bored. Make your work into play (Csikszentimanalyi, 1975). Most of the techniques for depression would work on boredom, but specifically try these ideas: make some changes in your life, find something valuable and important to do (volunteer to a hospital or a school), take an interesting course, exercise, use your brain to think of self-help projects to do, get active--DO SOMETHING. If there is some irritation with the person or situation boring you, with a little tactful ingenuity you can probably change the situation. Examples: turn the mundane chore into a competitive game, simply tell the other person you are bored (they probably are too), or figure out what is irritating you and change the situation or your thinking. Most of the time, the solution is not just finding some way to fill one afternoon but finding a worthwhile, exciting purpose for your life (chapter 3) and developing self-esteem and self-efficacy (chapter 14).

BTW, the pic is from 2002, and pretty flattering if I don't say so myself!

Fascinating - I post a comment saying bye bye to this pseudo-blog, as I am simply disappointed at its repetitiveness, and suggesting that the inventors look at other examples of this genre to improve this one, and my comment is deleted, despite the fact that it is supposedly an open blog! Big Brother is indeed watching.

...but I like it when my Big Brother is watching! He says "hey sis, can you scratch my back?" Then we get into a tickle fight.

I have no idea why I keep coming back to this fake blog? Marion do you know why?
